The Glory of Hazrat Ali (RA)

Ubqari Magazine - November 2014

Muhammad Ijaz Mustafa

When Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) heard about his arrival, he (PBUH) said, "As Ali (RA) to come to me." The people said, "That he does not have the power to come yet." Thus, he (PBUH) went to him (RA) himself and embraced him as zoo as he he saw him.

Caliph of the faithful hazrat Ali (RA) bin ABu Taalib (RA) is the paternal cousin of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). The mother of Hazrat Ali (RA) was Fatima bint-e-Asad bin Hashim. His nickname was Abu-ul-Hassan. He was the paternal cousin of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and his son in law, meaning that he was the husband of Hazrat Fatima (RA). He migrated to Medina. And he (RA) participated in the battles of Badr, the battle of trench, in baut-e-Rizwan and in all the expeditions except Tabook and remained with Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). In Tabook Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) left him behind to look after his family. He exhibited his extra ordinary performance in all of the expeditions When in the battle of Uhad, Masaab bin Umair (RA) in whose hand was the flag, was martyred, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) gave the flag to Hazrat Ali (RA). Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said to Hazrat Ali (RA), "You are my brother in this world and the hereafter." Acceptance of Islam of Hazrat Ali (RA): When Hazrat Khadeeja (RA) accepted Islam and when she had offered prayers with Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), Hazrat Ali (RA) came to Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) on the next day and said, "I saw that both of them were offering prayers." Hazrat Ali (RA) asked, "O Muhammad (PBUH)! What is this thing?" Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said, "This is the religion of God, that he chose for himself and he sent prophets to preach this." I invite you to Allah and to his worship. And I advise you to negate laat and Uzza. Hazrat Ali (RA) said, "This is such a thing that I had never heard before today. So I cannot decide anything about this until I discuss this with Abu Taalib (RA)." Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) did not like this. And before the matter could be disclosed before he wished so, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said, "O ALi! If you do not embrace Islam keep this matter secret." So Hazrat ALi (RA) remained quiet on that night. So, Hazrat ALi (RA) remained quiet on that night. Then Allah Almighty put the love of Islam in his (RA) heart. In the morning he went to Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and said, "O Muhammad! What did you say to me during the night?" Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said, "I said to you to bear witness that there is no God but Allah. He is alone and He has no partners. Negate laat and uzza. And redeem yourself from holding partners with God." Hazrat Ali (RA) accepted this and accepted Islam. Due to the fear of Hazrat Abu Taalib (RA), he used to come to you (PBUH) secretly and use to keep his Islam secret. Mujahid quotes that Hazrat Ali (RA) embraced Islam in the age of 10.

Migration of Hazrat Ali (RA): At the time of migration of Medina Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) had left Hazrat Ali (RA) behind. So that he may bring along his family members. And he (PBUH) ordered him (RA) to return all the keeps and belonging of various people to them. Moreover, the night on which Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) left, he ordered him, "Sleep in my bed and said, when you will sleep in my bed, Quraish would not try to find me." Thus, Hazrat Ali (RA) slept in the bed of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) . The infidels of Quraish had kept an eye on Hazrat Muhammad's (PBUH) bed. When they saw Hazrat Ali (RA) lying in that, they would think that Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) is lying in that. So much so that it dawned and they found Hazrat Ali (RA) in the bed and said, "If Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) had out of town, He (PBUH) would definitely have taken Ali (RA) with him." Thus, due to this thought they refrained from searching for Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) had ordered Hazrat Ali (RA) to meet him upon arriving in Medina. Thus, when hazrat Ali (RA) started his journey, he used to travel during the night and would hide during the day. So much so that he reached Medina. And when he saw his feet that had badly swollen, and that they were bleeding, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) started whipping with love. Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) took his Holy spit and rubbed it on his (RA) feet and prayed for his well being. Thus, from that point onwards, he never had any problems in his (RA) feet. So much so that he (RA) was martyred.

It is quoted by Hazrat Ali (RA) that Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) sent me to Yemen. I said, "O Prophet of Allah (PBUH)! You (PBUH) send me to to Yemen and people will ask me to mediate for their disputes even though I do not have any experience about that." Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Come near." I went near him. Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) rubbed his hand on my chest and said after that. "O Allah! Keep his tongue steadfast. And guide his heart." So I swear upon the one who created tree out of the seed and created life, after that I neve had any doubts in deciding any dispute. Hazrat Ali (RA) used to say that world is dead. The person who wishes to take anything from the world he should persuade his self to fuse with dogs. Hazrat Amaar bin Yaasir (RA) says that I heard from Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) that he used to say to Hazrat Ali (RA), "O Ali! Allah Almighty has given you such a quality that a quality better than that has not  been given by Him to any of his slaves. What is that quality. That quality is zuhud, that is to to be indifferent from this world. Allah has made you such that neither you take anything from this world nor this world takes anything from you. And Allah Almighty has given you the love of the poor. They are happy to consider you as their mentor and guide. And you are happy to make them your followers. So blessed be the one who loves you and cursed be the one who is spiteful about you. The people who love you and are truthful about you they will be your partners and neighbors in heaven and the people who are spiteful about you and lie about you, it is upon Allah to have them stand among the liars.

Hazrat Ali (RA) never hoarded wealth. His son Hazrat Hassan (RA) says, "Hazrat Ali (RA) only left behind 600 dirhams with which he bought a slave. It is quoted according the interpretation of hazrat Abbas (RA) of the verse of Allah
